Cook County Trivia
- Cook County’s Provident Hospital is credited with being not only the first non-segregated hospital in the United States, but also as the location of the first successful heart surgery in 1893. It was performed by African American Surgeon Daniel Hale Williams, whom was also the founder of the Provident Hospital.
- Cook County is the second most populous county in the nation. It is the 19th largest government in the United States.
